Daily Gratitude – Day 449

Today I Am grateful for another great day at my standardized patient job (Kaplan). After falling behind over the course of the day, we were able to pick up the pace later in the day, and even finish a few minutes early, which was great for me as I had to pick up Jacob after work.

I Am also grateful for the handful of last-minute wedding gigs that have been coming in for me – perfect timing! I could sure use the money!

I Am grateful further for a great evening with my boys, continuing our recent tradition of “Taco Tuesday” (inspired by The Lego Movie), and for the fact that this emotional breakthrough that I hit a little over a month ago has made a difference over how I handle the boys in dealing with trouble. Examples, as I was helping David get down from the dinner table, I inadvertently knocked my salad bowl onto the ground, creating a significant mess. I didn’t even get upset enough to say “Ooops” – I just proceeded to clean it up, and David even offered to help! I was also able to handle Jacob’s repeated meltdowns, and David’s “I don’t wanna go to bed” meltdown with love, ease and grace.

Yeah, I like being the New Jan Brady!
