Daily Gratitude – Day 545

Today I Am grateful for this new 40-day spiritual exercise I have been doing. Part of it involves a 15 minute meditation. Now in the past, when I have meditated, I’ve had great issues with random thoughts wandering through my mind, distracting me from keeping my focus on the meditation. Experts say it’s normal, and to simply let those thoughts fade away, or say something like, “Thank you, but I don’t need those thoughts now.” Yesterday I started something new, and further embraced it this morning  – allowing those random thoughts to continue, and searching them to see what messages those thoughts have to teach me! The results were rather astounding! I look forward to continuing this practice and seeing what secrets I can unlock!

I Am also grateful for old friend Kris, who has been a great friend to me ever since my first year of college, and is now a Licensed Practitioner at the Center for Spiritual Living North Jersey. She too has recently gone through a breakup, and after our Sunday Celebration this morning we were able to help support each other for the particulars of which we are experiencing.

Finally, I Am grateful for another great afternoon with my boys! We watched Hook, then went out to dinner before I drove them back to Brooklyn. My Little Boy was especially sweet, knowing I have to work tomorrow and Tuesday before I pick them up for an overnight stay on Wednesday, telling me, “I want to work with you.” A little sad, yes, but I focused on the loving sentiment of his gesture more. We really did have a great time together!

Namaste,
Brian
